Fit & Care

Every JOGI piece is made to be worn — and preserved. This guide covers fitting, caring for embroidered and silk pieces, storage, cleaning and how each garment is prepared for its journey to you. Your product page always carries the most specific instructions for the piece you have chosen.

Caring for embroidered and silk pieces

Dry clean embroidered and silk pieces only. How each JOGI garment is cared for depends on its fabric and handwork — silk, organza and heavily embroidered pieces always need specialist care.

  1. 01

Dry clean embroidered and silk pieces only — never machine wash them.

  2. 02

For heavily embellished pieces (zardozi, sequins, hand beading), use a specialist dry cleaner.

  3. 03

Cotton lawn and bamboo-silk pret pieces may be gently washed — always follow the care note on the product page for the specific piece.

  4. 04

Never fold over heavy zardozi seams — the metal thread can crease and crush.

  • Always dry clean embroidered pieces.
  • Check the product page for the care note specific to your piece.

Storing your JOGI pieces

The right storage keeps embroidery, colour and fabric in their original condition.

  1. 01

Store flat or hanging in a breathable garment bag.

  2. 02

Keep away from humidity and direct light — sunlight fades embroidery and rich colours.

  3. 03

Hang heavier pieces on padded hangers so the weight of the embroidery does not strain the seams.

  4. 04

Keep moth protection at a distance from the fabric rather than directly against it.

  • Store away from direct sunlight.
  • Use a breathable garment bag — not plastic.

Cleaning between wears

Bridal and formal pieces are worn for hours; a little air and light care between wears protects them until the next occasion.

  1. 01

Air the piece after wearing before returning it to storage.

  2. 02

Spot-clean small marks only with the guidance of a specialist dry cleaner.

  3. 03

Never iron directly over embroidery — press from the reverse with a low heat and a cloth between the iron and the fabric.

  4. 04

Have pieces professionally cleaned after significant wear rather than washing at home.

  • Air after each wear.
  • Press from the reverse, never over embroidery.

How your piece travels

Each JOGI piece is prepared by the atelier for its journey — wrapped and packed so it arrives exactly as it left.

  1. 01

Finished pieces are pressed and quality-checked before packing.

  2. 02

Embroidered and embellished garments are tissue-wrapped to protect the handwork.

  3. 03

Orders ship in protective packaging; delivery times and regions are confirmed at checkout.

  4. 04

Unpack carefully and hang the piece as soon as it arrives.

  • Hang the piece promptly on arrival.
  • Keep the packaging until you are happy with your piece.

A note on fit

Custom stitching is available on every JOGI piece. Share your standard measurements (bust, waist, hips, length and sleeve) at checkout, or message the atelier on WhatsApp — the team will confirm the fit before your piece goes into production.
